Kaleidoscope Premieres New Play Based on Winnie the Pooh Stories

The world's most beloved bear and his friends come to life in the latest theatrical offering from Victoria's Kaleidoscope Theatre for Young People: The House at Pooh Corner.
VICTORIA, British Columbia - EntSun -- Winnie the Pooh first appeared in 1926 in a collection of stories by author A.A. Milne created for his young son, Christopher Robin. Christopher Robin's toy animals became the basis for many of the characters and his own name was used as the beloved human friend of the animals. The delightful antics of Pooh, Eyeore, Tigger, Piglet, Rabbit, and even little Roo have been delighting young people for over 90 years, with stories full of comic moments and silly verses. The stories are also notable for their insights into human behaviour, and Milne's characters are endearing but also complex.
In this latest production by Kaleidoscope Theatre for Young People, Winnie the Pooh and his friends are joined by their beloved Christopher Robin, embarking on a string of engaging adventures in The House at Pooh Corner. The charm of the friendships shared in this beautiful stage adaptation of A.A. Milne's book blends enchanting puppetry and music into a story that transports audiences right into the Hundred Acre Wood.

Drawing on short stories from A.A. Milne's 1928 collection of the same name, The House at Pooh Corner invites audiences into the world of the famous bear. Kaleidoscope's stage adaptation features Hailey Fowler in her Kaleidoscope debut with Mark Hellman, Elliott Loran, David Radford, and Kirsten Van Ritzen under the direction of Roderick Glanville with Puppet Design by Pamela Stringer, Set Design by Barbara Clerihue, Costume design by Hannah Beth Stenberg, Lighting Design by Emma Dickerson, Projection Design by Jason King, original music by Alexander Brendan Ferguson, and Stage Management by Lois Dawson.
The House at Pooh Corner plays February 21-23 at the McPherson Playhouse with School Matinee performances on February 21. Tickets start at $14.00 for children and are available through the McPherson Box Office (rmts.bc.ca / 250.386.6121). The House at Pooh Corner is the last production in Kaleidoscope's 45th Season of Professional Family Entertainment.
