Joey Thurmond Considered Among Top Indie Actors of 2022

ATLANTA - EntSun -- One of the hottest actors in Independent and Studio Film recently has been Joey Thurmond.  The 2021 release of the Spike Lee produced Son of the South pushed Joey into the worldwide spotlight playing the role of Reverend Raines.  Starring Lucas Till and Lucy Hale and directed by Barry Alexander Brown, the film received "Best Cast Ensemble" and a "Film of the Year" Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
Global exposure is nothing new to Thurmond who also played Will Barton in the award winning feature film "Giants Being Lonely" appearing at top festivals including Lisbon, Tribecca, Toronto, and more.
Set to premiere in 2022 are the feature films "Scott Free" by breakout filmmaker AMPM Films and Gatlin Multimedia.  Directed by Stephen Everson, starring Columbus Short and Felicia Pearson, Joey plays Detective Clemmons in the action packed crime drama.  Also, set to premiere within days is The Skeleton's Compass.  A fun feature length family film.  Joey plays the father Tim Brown in this supporting role along with a wonderful cast of coming of age preteens including Caleb Bauman who recently guest starred on Disney's Raven's Home series.  There is some through the grapevine talk that Joey and Caleb may be involved in the development of another feature film that will star them both that is currently in the pre-production stages along with some other fantastic Hollywood talent.
