Idaho: Half-staff Flag Directive: Patriot Day 2026

"Twenty ~ Governor Brad Little has issued an order for all U.S. flags and State of Idaho flags to be flown at half-staff on September 11, also known as Patriot Day. This decision is in accordance with Public Law 107-89.

In a statement released by the governor, he emphasized the importance of honoring the heroes who bravely ran towards danger on that fateful day 25 years ago. He also urged for the remembrance of the innocent lives lost and the unity and patriotism that emerged from such a tragic event.

Governor Little also highlighted the significance of passing down the lessons learned from 9/11 to future generations, especially since a quarter of Americans today were born after the attack and did not experience it firsthand. He stressed the need to keep alive the legacy of those who were lost and those who served by teaching children to remember, honor, and love their country.

As he concluded his statement, Governor Little ended with a heartfelt message: "God bless America."
