Idaho Falls Public Library to launch new Drive-Thru service

IDAHO FALLS ~ Idaho Falls Public Library Launches New Drive-Thru Pick Up Service
The Idaho Falls Public Library (IFPL) is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its latest addition, the Drive-Thru Pick Up service. The service will officially launch on Monday, May 12, 2025, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. on the library's east side in partnership with the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce. The event will be attended by special guests including Mayor Rebecca Casper, members of the Library Board, and other community dignitaries. The public is invited to join in the celebration, enjoy refreshments, and witness the IFPL Drive-Thru in action.
According to Robert Wright, Idaho Falls Library Director, "The IFPL Drive-Thru is another step towards making library services more convenient and accessible for the community. We are excited to see it become a part of our patrons' everyday lives."
The IFPL Drive-Thru will be located on the east side of the library just north of the book drop and can be accessed via Park Avenue. Patrons can return any items in the book drop and then continue straight into the Drive-Thru lane.

This service is available to all Library cardholders, including residents of Idaho Falls and non-residents who have purchased a membership.
Here's how it works:
- Patrons can request items by logging into their account at https://www.ifpl.org and selecting "Drive-Thru Pick Up" under pickup options or by calling the Library directly.
- Same-day pickup of a pre-selected bag of age-appropriate children's books can also be requested by calling the Library.
- Items (other than children's books) are typically ready for pickup within two business days.
- Upon arrival at the Drive-Thru window, patrons will need to present their driver's license for verification.
- The pickup process takes only a minute or two.
The Drive-Thru will be open during the following hours:
- Monday-Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
- Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
"We're making it easier than ever to access the world of books, learning, and imagination," said library staff. "Whether you're on a busy schedule or have kids in the car, the Drive-Thru is for you."
