Houston-Based Tap.Giving Introduces NFC Tap-to-Give Discs for Church Offerings
EntSun News/11105625
HOUSTON - EntSun -- HOUSTON, Texas — Oct. 12, 2026 — Fewer worshippers carry cash or a checkbook than a generation ago, and the offering moment has changed with them. Tap.Giving, a Houston-area hardware company founded by a pastor, has introduced an NFC-enabled disc that lets a church member give by holding a phone near it — no app download and no QR code scan required.
The disc is 4 inches (100 mm) in diameter, built around an NTAG215 NFC chip. It mounts to the back of a pew or the arm of a chair using adhesive backing or pre-drilled screw holes, and it can also be passed by hand the way an offering plate has traditionally been used. Holding a phone near the disc opens the church's own existing giving page — the same page the church already uses for online donations. Tap.Giving does not process payments; each donation is completed through whichever platform the church has already set up, including Tithely, Pushpay, Givelify, Donorbox, Subsplash or Anedot.
Before ordering, each church configures its own disc through an online design tool, selecting a layout and colors and adding its logo, with a live preview of the finished piece. The church approves the design proof before production, and orders typically arrive two to three weeks after that approval. A disc's destination is not fixed once it ships: a companion service, go.tap.giving, lets a church update where its discs direct a phone — a new giving page or a seasonal campaign, for example — without reordering or replacing hardware.

The discs are sold as a one-time hardware purchase rather than a subscription. Pricing is $5 per disc for orders of 100 to 199 units, $4 per disc for 200 to 399, and $3.50 per disc for 400 or more, with a minimum order of 100 discs. The company charges no monthly fee, setup fee or transaction fee of its own; shipping is provided at no charge, and orders are covered by a 30-day return policy.
"We exist to help pastors increase generosity and donations at their church," said Ryan, a pastor and the founder of Tap.Giving. "If we help them do that, we win."
The company says the discs are meant to supplement a congregation's existing giving methods, not replace them, and that churches keeping a traditional plate for members who still give by cash or check are doing nothing wrong. Tap.Giving was founded in 2025 and is based in Houston, Texas.
