Adventures in School and Life, where readers meet Brainy, a smart and friendly guide
who teaches kids that thinking is like having conversations with your brain—about
what is happening in the world, what we hope will happen, what the challenges may
be, and how we will try to make our lives as amazing as we can. Sometimes thinking
makes things better. Sometimes thinking makes things hard. By knowing about the brain, we can work together with it to fill our lives with great adventures that are more interesting and fun—in school and life.
The interactive book, with writing prompts and thinking exercises, invites young explorers to understand their inner and outer worlds, how the brain makes up stories for us to live in, and how to write their own life's adventures and goals to empower and create a life of their own dreams, discoveries, and joys.
The seed for Weiss's Brainy's Mind Over Matters series was planted when she lost her father as a child to acerebral brain hemorrhage attributed to work-related stress. This tragic event was formative to her own career path, where she now helps busy professionals, executives, and entrepreneurs master their minds so they can have happier, healthier, prosperous, and productive lives for themselves and all the big and little people counting on them. Her children's book series aims to help kids in a similar way by introducing concepts about how the brain and mind work while incorporating real-life examples, storytelling, and an interactive element that fosters a better understanding of themselves, their emotions, and their development.
