NORTHBROOK, Ill. - EntSun -- Gun Tote'n Mamas' (GTM Original) president, Claudia Chisholm, is featured in March's "Shooting Industry" magazine. This issue is devoted to women in the world of firearms, so it is fitting to highlight Chisholm and her successful approach to marketing concealed carry bags and purses to women who carry concealed.
Ashley McGee penned the article, "In Demand: Female Firearms Instructors, Quality Products for Women in Demand More than Ever," which also features firearms instructor and podcaster Ava Flanell and firearms instructor/range owner Paige Roux. While Flanell and Roux contribute thoughts regarding women in the world of firearms training, Chisholm expands on why manufacturers and retailers should welcome the idea of marketing specifically to women. Since women comprise the fastest growing segments of the firearms market – on and off the range – Chisholm offers this piece of corresponding advice in the article: "Since GTM Original began in 2009, this industry has changed immensely, but we still have situations where dealers feel the need to close their doors when sales dip … If they would instead embrace female consumers, many wouldn't have to."
Chisholm added, "What we have learned in the last 18 months, and at SHOT Show 2023, women, especially 21- to 35-year olds, will push gun sales, with all the corresponding accessories and education, to greater heights yet achieved. All in the demographic we talk to and meet are hungry and well researched to find what is best for them. They are willing to spend what it takes to have and be the best. Keeping up and catering to them is a strategic win-win for consumer, manufacture and dealer."
