Georgia: Gov. Kemp: VDL Groep Adds 120 New Jobs in Hall County
EntSun News/11105019
ATLANTA ~ VDL Groep plans to invest an estimated $77 million over the next several years to expand its manufacturing operations in Hall County, creating about 120 jobs, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp announced.
VDL Industries Gainesville, a subsidiary of the Netherlands-based engineering and equipment manufacturer, will buy and expand the building it currently leases at 5459 Aloha Way in Oakwood. The project will add large-milling capacity and an expanded cleanroom for manufacturing semiconductor capital equipment, according to the announcement.
Construction is expected to be completed in 2028, with hiring scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026. The company expects to recruit for machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, engineering, administrative support, maintenance and management roles.
VDL Industries Gainesville currently employs about 70 people in Hall County and works in sheet metal fabrication, welding, machining and cleanroom system integration. The company serves high-tech semiconductor, food technology, mobility and infrastructure markets.

VDL Groep President and CEO Willem van der Leegte said the company invests in employees, machinery and facilities across Europe, Asia and the Americas to serve customers worldwide. He described Georgia as an attractive base because of its connections across the United States and the country's high-tech and semiconductor industries.
Kemp said the expansion reflected the company's continued growth in Georgia and cited the state's workforce and business environment.
Tim Evans, president and CEO of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, said the project supported the region's advanced manufacturing sector and pointed to workforce partnerships involving local school systems, Lanier Technical College, Brenau University and the University of North Georgia.
The Georgia Department of Economic Development said Regional Project Manager Brandon Lounsbury worked on the project with the chamber and Georgia Power. Commissioner Pat Wilson said VDL's Oakwood facility had been part of Dutch investment in Georgia for eight years.
