ATLANTA ~ Hyundai Transys plans to invest nearly $560 million to expand its manufacturing operations in West Point, Georgia, creating 320 jobs, Gov. Brian Kemp announced.

The expansion at 6801 Kia Parkway will upgrade the company's first and second plants and add a third facility. It is intended to increase production capacity for hybrid-vehicle electrified powertrains, according to the announcement.

Hyundai Transys currently employs about 1,250 people at its West Point facility. The company said it will hire for administrative, supervisory and production roles. Job information is available at its website.

Kemp said the investment would strengthen Georgia's automotive manufacturing sector and support Hyundai and Kia's growth in the state.
