Footloose: The Musical Set to Ignite The Strand Stage May 15 – June 7, 2026
MARIETTA, GA | March 18, 2026 — The Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre will present Footloose: The Musical on stage from May 15 to June 7, 2026. Based on the classic film, Footloose features electrifying choreography and a score of iconic 1980s anthems, including hits like "Footloose," "Let's Hear It for the Boy," and "Almost Paradise."
Footloose follows Ren McCormack, a teenager who moves to a small town where dancing has been banned. As he challenges the community's restrictions, the town is forced to confront long-held beliefs and rediscover the value of connection, expression, and celebration.
"Footloose is the perfect musical for spring, full of life, energy, and a whole lot of guts. It's loud, tender, and much more honest than people remember," said Director Heather Schutz. "It's a story that reminds us joy isn't frivolous. Sometimes it's the bravest thing a community can choose. This cast has poured so much heart into every rehearsal, and I can't wait for audiences at The Strand to feel it too."
