Those traveling to or through the area are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra time and consider alternate routes. Visitors are also encouraged to use city parking garages.

The parade is part of a busy weekend that includes IU's Homecoming football game against Minnesota on Saturday, Oct. 31, and Halloween activities. Bloomington's trick-or-treat hours are 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Motorists are encouraged to drive cautiously and watch for pedestrians, particularly children and families in residential neighborhoods. IU's official Homecoming Guide provides parade details and guidance for participants.
