(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - A new Steering Committee has been formed to tackle the issue of homelessness in Columbia. The committee's main goal is to create a Strategic Plan that will outline actionable steps to address this pressing issue.
The committee, which consists of 17 members, will consider primary and secondary data, community needs, and feasibility when creating the action steps. The members come from various backgrounds and include representatives from organizations that work closely with individuals experiencing homelessness, business owners, higher education institutions, and more.
One of the key aspects of the committee's work is to gather input from a variety of stakeholders. This includes individuals with lived experience of homelessness, who will have a chance to share their perspectives and insights. The general public will also have an opportunity to be involved through focus groups and a community survey. More information about these opportunities will be shared in the coming months.
