Columbia Police respond to fatal traffic accident on Interstate 70 East

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - A tragic traffic accident on Interstate 70 East has left one man dead. According to Columbia Police, the incident occurred on June 27 at approximately 1:30 p.m. near the 123.2 mile marker.

The driver, identified as 69-year-old Elbert Allen of Columbia, was traveling east on I-70 when his vehicle crashed into a guard rail. Emergency services responded to the scene and transported Allen to a local hospital in critical condition. However, he later succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
