~ Mesa, AZ - The City of Mesa is taking swift action in response to the heavy rain that has been impacting various parts of the city. City crews and public safety personnel are closely monitoring the situation and responding promptly to any issues that arise.
As the storm continues, residents are advised to exercise caution and avoid driving through flooded roadways or moving water. This includes staying away from washes, low-water crossings, retention basins, and other areas where water may be collecting.
To assist residents in protecting their properties from potential flooding, sandbags are available at multiple locations throughout Mesa. For more information on locations and availability, visit mesaaz.gov/storm.

As of 3 p.m., several roads have been closed due to the current conditions. These include Higley Rd. south of Brown Rd., Higley Rd. northbound at University Dr., and Brown Rd. west of Power Rd. Those in need of traffic assistance can contact 480-644-2160 for further guidance. Updates on road closures will also be provided on the Mesa newsroom website as they become available.
In light of these conditions, residents are urged to take necessary precautions for their safety. This includes avoiding flooded roadways, washes, and low-water crossings, as well as following all directions from emergency personnel. The City also encourages residents to stay updated through official communication channels for any further developments.
For additional storm resources and updates, residents can visit mesaaz.gov/storm or follow the City's social media channels. The City remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents during this time of inclement weather.
