Christoph Allerstorfer's The Ghost Within Original Score to be Released By Head Down First Music

LOS ANGELES - EntSun -- Christoph Allerstorfer's score to the upcoming horror film, The Ghost Within, is getting a digital release on March 17, 2023 by Head Down First Music. The album consists of 35 original tracks. The film, directed by Lawrence Fowler, is getting distributed by Vertical Entertainment on VOD and digital March 17, 2023. The film stars Michaela Longden, Rebecca Phillipson, and Tom Millen. Allerstorfer's other credits include The Jack in the Box, The Jack in the Box: Awakening and Breaking Infinity to name a few. The score will be available on all major digital sites including iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and Apple Music.

When discussing his work on the film Allerstorfer says, "The Ghost Within marked my third time collaborating with director Lawrence Fowler. The score for this film was different from our other times working together because we didn't want to use a full orchestra but wanted to keep it more intimate and personal. Still, I got to use everything from live musicians to unsettling sound design to create a score that is equally as mysterious as the story. What also made this experience special was getting to put my daughter's vocals on some of the tracks. Working on The Ghost Within was an amazing opportunity and I can't wait for people to see the film."

The Ghost Within follows Margot (Longden), a young woman suffering from severe memory loss who sets out to solve the twenty-year-old mystery of her sister Evie's death. Returning to her family home, a series of terrifying encounters with her sister's ghost begin to bring her lost memories back. Aided by an experienced paranormal investigator, Margot's desperation peaks when she has reason to suspect Evie was murdered at their childhood home. Will she unearth the tragic events of that terrible night to discover her sister's killer? Or will this desperate hunt for the truth cost the lives of all involved?

Christoph Allerstorfer (https://christoph-allerstorfer.com/) derives from a broad musical background, with experience as a professional musician, as well as a recording and mixing engineer.

In 2013 he successfully transitioned to composing for trailer music with credits like STAR WARS – ROGUE ONE and AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, but later began to specialize more in horror and drama with music used in campaigns such as NOPE, IT CHAPTER TWO, TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7 and various others.

From 2016 to 2019 Christoph worked as assistant to multi award-winning British composer James Griffiths, learning all the tools of the trade in the film music business. After his time with James, he began scoring numerous short films and features.  Some of his titles include: THE JACK IN THE BOX, which won "Best Feature Movie" at the British Horror Film Festival, THE JACK IN THE BOX: AWAKENING and BREAKING INFINITY. His latest work can be heard in Vertical Entertainment's horror film, THE GHOST WITHIN.
