Celebrate 90 Years of The Strand: Join the $90,000 Fundraising Effort
Marietta, GA – September 10, 2025 – The Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre proudly announces its 13th Annual Callathon Fundraiser, commemorating a significant milestone: the theatre's 90th anniversary. Since 1935, The Strand has been a cornerstone of Marietta Square, serving as a hub for laughter, music, storytelling, and community connection. This year, we invite our supporters to help us raise $90,000 to honor nine decades of memories and ensure the theatre's future.
"For 90 years, The Strand has thrived because of the unwavering support from this community," said Manda Costoulas, Operations Director of The Strand. "Each contribution helps ensure that future generations can gather here, find inspiration, and create their own memories."

The funds raised during this Callathon will directly support The Strand's operations, enabling the theatre to continue offering diverse entertainment programming. As a nonprofit organization, The Friends of The Strand, Inc. relies on the generosity of donors to keep the arts alive in downtown Marietta.
Ways to Contribute:
1. Participate in the Callathon (Sept. 23): Join us on September 23 for Community Day! Celebrate the kickoff of our 90th birthday week with live entertainment every hour from 12 PM to 6 PM. Enjoy guided tours of our historic building while our dedicated volunteers work the phones to raise funds.
2. Secure a Brick: Honor this milestone by purchasing a 4"x 8" commemorative brick for just $190— a special anniversary price! Engrave your name or a loved one's name on a Walk of Fame Brick and commemorate your connection to downtown Marietta.
3. Purchase a Commemorative Seat Plaque: For $900, engrave a name on a plaque in The Strand's auditorium. This lasting tribute supports the theatre's future while honoring its legacy.
