CGP Spotlight to Launch New Streaming Platform for Independent Productions Worldwide
EntSun News/11074453
TORONTO - EntSun -- Toronto-based CGP Spotlight is set to launch a new streaming platform that brings independent film and television productions to audiences worldwide. The ad-free service puts indie creators and viewers front and center, challenging big streaming giants with fairness, originality, and genuine human connection.
"I've seen how industry barriers keep talented independent voices from being heard, and how audiences are too often treated as walking wallets or data points for algorithms," says Jen Scott, Founder and CEO of CGP Spotlight. "CGP Spotlight was built to change that. We're creating not just a content library but a people-first platform—one that puts viewers' needs first with no hidden fees, no ads, no confusing tiers to unlock the content you already deserve access to, and no limits on how or where they can watch, while giving independent creators the support they truly deserve."

CGP Spotlight showcases independent productions from Canada, the U.S., the U.K., Finland, and beyond, with new titles added regularly.
The launch slate includes CGP Spotlight Originals such as In Pursuit, an action-rom-com short directed by and starring 26-time award-winner Tazito Garcia (Hidden Strike with Jackie Chan and John Cena, Netflix's Trigger, Amazon Prime's Reacher) and written by and starring Jen Scott.
CGP Spotlight will also feature acclaimed projects from award-winning director Joshua Shultz, including Ride or Die starring Timothy V. Murphy (Sons of Anarchy, National Treasure) and Americana, a neo-western starring Andrew W. Walker (Three Wise Men and a Baby), Ruby Modine (Shameless), Haley Reinhart (American Idol) and Andy Biersack (American Satan).
A 2024 IndieWire study led by former Sundance CEO Keri Putnam found that nearly 37 million Americans watch independent films, and another 40 million would welcome a dedicated indie streaming service. Yet only about two percent of indie films recoup their budgets under traditional models, leaving most creators undervalued and audiences underserved.
