Brooklyn BBQ Against Gun Violence Is A Huge Win

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - EntSun -- New York City came together in Brooklyn over a meal to promote an important issue during gun violence awareness month. The Community Hope Foundation, a 501 C 3 non profit organization that directly serves the community working with the less fortunate to promote safer streets, held its 3rd Annual Peace Barbecue over the weekend. This event was also in support of NYC Mayoral Candidate Eric Adams who due to a scheduling conflict could not make it however is happy that the event went smoothly representing his interest. The free event included, a hearty menu of grilled chicken, ribs, steaks, Italian sausage, dirty rice and classics like hamburgers and hotdogs. Not to take anything for granted the foundation also provided a free PPE. A display table showcased cases of hand sanitizers and face shields free for all including other patrons in the park. In a bid to show the work their doing All Over NYC in the community several veteran organizations came out to support the efforts of the new kid on the block!

Niccol Clarke better known in the music entertainment world as Dj Xotic Mami as well as founder of The community Hope Foundation had this to say, "Watching how these kids interacted with each other after over a year of seclusion and quarantining was amazing. This is what children need Interaction. To be able to go outside and play. Putting an event like this together and bringing the Bloods and Crips together, to sit together, to come up with plans to embrace Peace. Everybody needs a break. Inviting homeless people strolling in the park and inviting them to partake in the BBQ so they could eat. This event is what community is about. This is just our giveback."
The next Community Event will be our Annual School Supply giveaway. NYC is opening up and we want to send our students back ready and prepared. We are still in a dire economic crisis so The Community Hope Foundation wants to make sure the families in financial hardship children have the supplies they need.
