Boxing World Title Glory Awaits Kaitlyn Lodge
EntSun News/10949597
The younger sister of NRL star Matt Lodge will fight for the WBL World Title at Gairy St Clair Superhero Pro Fight Night in September.
SYDNEY - EntSun -- Before the pandemic hit two years ago, Kaitlyn Lodge had never pulled on a pair of boxing gloves, let alone stepped in the ring. Next month, she will be fighting to become Australia's next boxing world champion.
The 24-year-old sister of Sydney Roosters player Matt Lodge is set to become a name in her own right when she fights Connie Chan for the WBL Super Welterweight World Title at the Gairy St Clair Superhero Pro Fight Night on Saturday, September 10, at West HQ. Kaitlyn Lodge will be holding nothing back when she fights to become world champion in her debut professional fight.
"I'm feeling really good leading up to the big night," says the young fighter, who has earned the nickname 'Wild Thing'. "I've really challenged myself in my preparation, and had the best sparring partners I could have possibly had."

Despite having an older brother who is a recognised name in Australian sport, Kaitlyn admits that she wasn't particularly athletic growing up, and it was only in 2020 that she joined BoxFitt Gym Windsor with the intention of losing weight. Her natural talent caught the eye of trainer Mark Hardman, who suggested she try her hand at the sport. Since then, she has fallen in love with boxing and gone from strength to strength, winning all seven of her fights so far. She's confident that this is only the beginning, with dreams of being the main event and a household name in the future.
"I couldn't be where I am today without my friends, family and, of course, my trainer Mark Hardman," says Kaitlyn. "I'm so thankful to everyone who has taken the time to help me. Whether it be getting up early to go for a run with me, or helping raise money for me on this journey, I am incredibly grateful for the support."

"She is an inspiration to every girl out there who is thinking about taking up the sport of boxing, and is our Aussie hero for the night!"
Kaitlyn Lodge will be fighting Connie Chan in the main event at the Gairy St Clair Superhero Pro Fight Night on Saturday, September 10 from 6:30 pm at West HQ, 33 Railway St, Rooty Hill, NSW 2766. The fight will also be streamed live on fite.tv.
