Plans service expansion at rural emergency hospital to improve healthcare access.

BOULDER CITY, Nev. - EntSun -- The Rural Health Transformation Initiative provides capital that enables rural hospitals to improve infrastructure, expand capacity and address the need for sustainable services and access to healthcare in Boulder City and surrounding communities.

The Rural Health Transformation Program is a historic $50 billion federal initiative managed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (https://www.cms.gov/newsroom/press-releases/cms...) (CMS). Running from fiscal years 2026 through 2030, it gives all 50 states flexible funding to modernize rural healthcare infrastructure, fix workforce shortages, expand telehealth and AI tools, and improve local care access.

Plans are underway for building improvements, service line enhancements, and program additions that directly support patient access to healthcare. Boulder City Hospital is expanding its rural health clinic, adding a mobile health van, adding van transportation for its Intensive Outpatient Program, and a 15-passenger vehicle for long term care. We are scheduling building and department upgrades and modernization for surgery, the physical plant, and the observation unit.

As the only rural emergency hospital in Nevada not supported by a taxing district, mining dollars, or a large corporate health system, Boulder City Hospital relies on contributions from fundraising efforts and grants like the Rural Health Transformation Initiative.
