Boston: Back to School Resources in August
EntSun News/11098822
~ As the summer comes to an end and the new school year approaches, it is important to focus on mental health, self-care, and preparedness. The transition from a relaxed summer schedule to a more structured school routine can bring about both positive and stressful changes. In light of this, the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is encouraging parents and school professionals to take a moment to check in with themselves and prioritize their well-being.
The EAP suggests asking oneself questions such as: How am I sleeping? Am I drinking enough water and eating regularly throughout the day? What self-care practices have I put in place for the upcoming school year? Have I set aside time for myself to relax and disconnect from responsibilities?
To assist with these efforts, the EAP has compiled a list of self-care articles, educational sites, and back-to-school financial resources for families in need. These resources include:
- The Kids Mental Health Foundation: This website offers various articles and tips on healthy routines, managing anxiety, completing activity sheets, and more. Of particular note is their Mental Health Checklist which focuses on self-care during the return to school.
