Bloomington Arts Commission Opens Artistic Advancement Grant Cycle

~ The Bloomington Arts Commission (BAC) and the City of Bloomington have announced the opening of their 2026 Artistic Advancement Grant program. This grant aims to support local artists by providing up to $2,000 in funds for expenses incurred between November 1, 2026 and October 31, 2027.
The Artistic Advancement Grant is specifically designed to aid in the professional career advancement of artists residing and working in Bloomington. These funds can be used for any expenses related to their artistic work. Artists from all disciplines are eligible to apply, including music, visual arts, performing arts, film, architecture, and literature. It should be noted that previous recipients of the Emerging Artist and Artistic grants can also apply for this grant, but it will count towards their total number of awards.

Interested artists can submit their applications until Monday, August 10, 2026 at 11:59 pm. The application form and more information about the grant cycle can be found on the BAC website at https://bloomington.in.gov/arts/grants.
To assist with the application process, Bloomington Arts Commissioners will be offering technical support on a first-come, first-served basis during the application period. Those interested can schedule an appointment with a commissioner by contacting Paige Sharp, Arts Consultant and liaison to the Bloomington Arts Commission.
