'People for Puerto Rico' Fundraiser at the Long Beach Laugh Factory

Event is presented by Corinne Irizarry and Mellocomedic

LONG BEACH, CA, November 14, 2017 -- Comedians Bill Burr, Eric Griffin, Ian Edwards and Shang - along with Special Guests to be announced - will headline a 'People for Puerto Rico' fundraiser at the Long Beach Laugh Factory on Monday, November 20. The event is presented by Mellocomedic and comedian Corinne Irizarry, who serves as host, and is sponsored by North Hollywood eatery Mofongo's (http://www.mofongosrestaurant.com/) and California Energy Contractors (http://cal-energy.com/).

"When your family is in need, you do absolutely anything you can to help," said Irizarry. "Puerto Rico is my second home, its people are my extended family, and their pain and suffering is mine as well."

Of the impressive lineup and venue, Irizarry said, "I'm just an actress/comic trying to do my part. I'm lucky to have famous friends with pull in this industry - of whom I have never asked any favors to help me get gigs, auditions, or meetings with people who could advance my career. I saved the ask for something more important! Together, we can help thousands of people whose lives have been upended by this disaster."

With one night to have an impact, she wanted a venue that could accommodate 500 people. Irizarry hosted Latin Night at the Laugh Factory when she first moved to LA from NYC, and thought it would be perfect. "If it weren't for Sarah Mello from Mellocomedic partnering with me on this, and the support of the Laugh Factory, I might still be in the planning phase rather than telling all of you, 'It's happening next week, so come down!'"

All money raised will be donated to help the people of Puerto Rico in their efforts to recover from the devastation left by Hurricane Maria. Currently in the process of estblishing People for Puerto Rico as a nonprofit, Irizarry is working with www.WeCareProjectFoundation.org, and will be directly coordinating relief efforts with churches and municipalities in Puerto Rico.
