The civic advocacy component of the BDA is also central to its mission. Wilson believes business owners and professionals cannot separate their business success from the health, leadership, accountability, and economic environment of the communities they serve.

Through BDA Advocacy, the organization encourages business owners, professionals, civic leaders, and residents to become more informed, connected, and engaged in the decisions that shape local business climate, community trust, and long-term opportunity.
