The Railyard Event & Conference Center Targets July Opening in Downtown Elkins

ELKINS, W.Va. - EntSun -- The Railyard Event & Conference Center, an $11.6 million, 28,000-square-foot venue in historic downtown Elkins, is preparing for a phased opening beginning in mid-July 2026.

Located at 50 Roundhouse Way on the former roundhouse site, The Railyard will include a 9,374-square-foot conference center, banquet capacity for up to 588 guests, flexible pre-function spaces, on-site food and beverage service, and a professional-grade performance theater. Managed by Taylor Hospitality, the venue is designed to host conferences, corporate retreats, weddings, expos, dinner shows, comedy nights, live theater, and community celebrations.

"This venue was built to do something West Virginia hasn't had in this part of the state — host major events at a level that competes with anywhere in the region, without losing what makes Elkins feel like home," said Shane Jones, General Manager of The Railyard Event & Conference Center.

The opening will take place in phases, with the conference center, food and beverage service, and pre-function spaces expected to become operational first. Final theater installations will continue in the weeks that follow, with a formal grand opening celebration to be announced once all venue spaces are online.

The Railyard is expected to serve as a major economic driver for downtown Elkins and Randolph County, attracting visitors for meetings, entertainment, tourism, and special events.
