Baltimore Fashion Week shares runway with sister event Designer Debut in 2020

HUNT VALLEY, Md. - EntSun -- This year has been full of ups and downs coupled with major doses of uncertainty, but one thing for sure and two things for certain is that the show must go on.  This year Baltimore Fashion Week and the Designer Debut will share the same runway but at different times.

When Covid-19 hit, the strategic thinking cap was in full on and protocol measures were quickly designed. These measures not only effected the 13th season of Baltimore Fashion Week, but the 4th season of the Designer Debut hosted in New York. Although the Designer Debut was not until September 11, 2020, the chances of moving forward with this event in New York was futile.  Votes from the Board approved the relocation process for the Designer Debut to be held in Hunt Valley for 2020.  The 5^th season of the Designer Debut will resume in New York in 2021.

"This year's production season was one of the hardest planning processes I have ever endured. With the ongoing "what if" moments followed by "how do we make this work" I experienced several unwanted rides on the emotional and systematic roller coasters. Since March 17, 2020, I now understand the heartache a business can face when decisions need to be made on how to keep the pulse beating and the vision alive," stated Sharan Nixon, Founder/Lead Producer.

The 2020 seasons for Baltimore Fashion Week and the Designer Debut will be hosted at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Baltimore Hunt Valley (Delta). Working with the Delta immediately provided a sense of professionalism, an exhibition of know-how, and a "just tell us what you need" type of ambiance something desired at a time like this.

Members at the Delta stepped in and assisted Nixon with implementing ideas for a safe event experience for all who attend these events. With these changes, the production schedule for Baltimore Fashion Week was severely impacted and reduced from 7-days to one day.

Baltimore Fashion Week and the Designer Debut will host its seasonal productions at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Baltimore Hunt Valley on Saturday, August 29, 2020. Designer collections for Baltimore Fashion Week will begin at 3:05 p.m. and the Designer Debut will start at 6:05 p.m.
