Award-Nominated Podcast Celebrates Pride with a Diversity of LGBT Stories

SEATTLE - EntSun -- Gayish, a podcast about gay stereotypes, celebrates Pride 2019 by releasing episodes showcasing the diversity of stories in the LGBT+ community. Guests include an panel of people of color, a trans atheist, a "late bloomer" who came out in his 60s, and a deaf pup.

Gayish co-creator and co-host Kyle Getz said, "This isn't just a way to educate non-LGBT people about the vast experiences of queer people. It's for people like my co-host and me—gay, white, cis-gender men—who are the most privileged, and too often the least accepting, of other minorities within our own community. The only way love truly wins is if we all win together."

Guests on episodes released this month include:

• Mark Traphagen, who came out in his late 60s in spite of being married with two kids.
• Sarah Austin, host of the SarahTalk Podcast and transgender atheist.
• Kevin Toovey, Jake Leon-Guerrero, and Xander Hurley, who discussed their experiences as LGBT people of color.
• Pup Kero, a gay deaf pup.

Although underrepresented in media, these stories aren't unique. After his episode released in early June, Mark said, "I've been hearing all day from people it helped."
