At last, biker-friendly accommodation on Exmoor in Devon

BARNSTAPLE, England - May 23, 2019 - EntSun -- Touring with a motorcycle is every biker's dream, but in reality it can be hard to find biker-friendly accommodation in some of the UK's more isolated spots, such as the South West. It is not always possible to park your bike safely near your bedroom, or even within sight of it.

The Poltimore Inn, based in the heart of North Molton on the edge of beautiful Exmoor in North Devon, has just opened four brand new B and B lodges which come complete with their own, lockable, motorcycle parking spaces.

"Over the years we have had visitors at the pub, coming to visit us by motorcycle, who have talked to us about this issue," says landlord Alan Boddington. "Obviously their bikes can be very valuable, and they worry about leaving them overnight in public parking areas.  So we decided we could solve this problem by providing accommodation with its own private motorcycle parking."

Alan's motorcycle-friendly lodges have been four years in the development, but it has been worth the wait. The new lodges are modern, stylish, bright and airy, with lovely countryside views. They have soft grey slate roofs and green weatherboard exteriors which blend in well with the Exmoor hillside. All designed by Alan himself, the lodges are built with an attractive A frame construction and include two separate bedrooms, each with en suite bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a superking double bed, while the other has two single beds that can be zipped together to form a double bed. Each lodge can be booked for a family or small group, or the rooms can be booked individually. A full English breakfast at the pub is included in the price.

"The lodges offer a type of posh glamping, a little bit different from your normal Bed and Breakfast," added Alan. "I wanted something with a bit of individuality, that has clean contemporary lines but feels at home in the Exmoor countryside. Our visitors can enjoy all the modern comforts and their own privacy, in a gorgeous rural setting, but with the convenience of being right next to the pub with its restaurant and bar menu.
