UK Artist Delivers His Personal Take on the Newest Rendition of a Popular Smash Hit
LOS ANGELES - Feb. 12, 2018 - EntSun -- University of Essex Law Graduate Mike Maro has released a brand new remix for "The Weekend", the Grammy Nominated Performance by artist SZA. "The Weekend" appeared on SZA's 2017 album 'Ctrl', Mike Maro is an up and coming rapper and producer who is known for remixing current songs with his own unique interpretation. The artist currently has a series of tracks playing across the web, many gaining thousands of views in just under a year.
Adding to his growing arsenal of music, the London-based artist released a music video to accompany the track which is currently available for streaming on YouTube. So far the reception of the track by audiences has been warm with positive feedback. In just a few days since the video release, Mike Maro has received nearly hundreds of thousands of views and counting from a global audience.

The rapper delivers a slow-tempo rendition of "The Weekend", mirroring that of the original. The reinvention of the performance includes vivid storytelling which is offered from a male point of view. In reference to his decision to remix SZA's version of "The Weekend", Mike states, "The Weekend" remix of SZA's original touches on my personal relationship and how me and my girl almost always broke up on the weekends, but instead made up and resolved it all before things got worse". The rapper goes on to say, "I made the song reflect my own life as opposed to the original which was more flirty". Mike Maro's "The Weekend" remix was released on February 4th, 2018.
