Archer to Open Second Manufacturing Plant in Los Angeles to Meet Surging Demand for Meat Stick Business
EntSun News/11058584
LOS ANGELES, May 9, 2025 ~ Los Angeles, CA - Archer, a rapidly growing meat snack brand in the United States, has announced its plans to open a second manufacturing facility in Los Angeles. This expansion is expected to drive continued growth for the company and create over 200 new jobs in the local area. The new facility will be located in Vernon and highlights Archer's long-term commitment to the city while positioning them for rapid expansion in response to increasing demand.
Founder and CEO of Archer, Eugene Kang, stated that the decision to expand production capabilities in Los Angeles was intentional. "Our founding principle has always been that supply chain ownership is crucial for maximizing margins and ensuring quality control," Kang said. "This expansion represents our next strategic step to vertically integrate our fastest growing product line."
The need for additional production capacity comes as Archer's sales have increased by 90% year-over-year, outpacing the category's overall growth of 5.8%. This demonstrates the company's strong market performance and their position at the forefront of the expanding segment of clean-ingredient, protein-rich, and convenient snacks. In particular, Archer has seen explosive growth in their meat stick products with a sales increase of 187.4%, making them one of the primary drivers of the overall meat stick category's growth.

The new facility will nearly double Archer's overall manufacturing capacity and will primarily focus on producing their extensive lineup of meat sticks. This will improve their flexibility and speed to market while also providing synergies for training and development with their existing facility located in San Bernardino, CA. The Vernon plant will exclusively produce meat sticks while the San Bernardino plant will continue to produce both jerky and meat sticks.
The Vernon facility is purpose-built for meat processing and was previously operated by Farmer John for 90 years. It spans nearly 140,000 square feet and is capable of both processing and packaging. The facility is expected to be fully operational by early September 2025.
Archer is committed to supporting the local community in Los Angeles and currently employs over 150 Californians at their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in San Bernardino. With the addition of the Vernon facility, they expect to add over 200 new jobs, with initial hiring and onboarding set to begin this summer. In April, Archer announced their sponsorship of the Los Angeles Dodgers, further showcasing their commitment to the city.
