~ Mesa, AZ- The city of Mesa is once again showing its dedication to supporting local businesses with the opening of applications for the Mesa Business Builder (MBB) Small Business Assistance Program on July 7. According to Mesa Mayor Mark Freeman, "Mesa is a city that invests in its people and its businesses. Programs like Mesa Business Builder are a direct reflection of our commitment to making Mesa the best place to start and grow a business."
Now in its fifth year, the MBB program has already assisted over 700 local businesses in strengthening their operations, expanding their reach, and planning for long-term success. "Mesa Business Builder was built to level the playing field for small business owners," says Jaye O'Donnell, Mesa Economic Development Director. "No business owner should have to figure it out alone. We connect local entrepreneurs with expert support that helps them compete, grow and thrive right here in Mesa."
To be eligible for this program, businesses must be based in Mesa and have been in operation for at least 12 months with fewer than 25 full-time employees. While startups are not yet eligible for one-on-one assistance through MBB, they can still access resources and workshops through the Mesa HUUB platform which also opens for applications on July 7. For more information about the program or to apply, visit MesaBusinessBuilder.com or contact Project Manager Kelley Keffer at 480-644-6958 or MesaBusinessBuilder@mesaaz.gov.
"We are proud of what Mesa's small business community has accomplished," says O'Donnell. "And we are even more excited about what comes next. If you are ready to take your business to the next level, we want to help you get there." With the Mesa Business Builder program, small businesses in Mesa have the opportunity to receive the support and guidance they need to thrive and contribute to the city's economic growth.
