The new beta introduces an initial focus on Openings and Specialties, advancing Altira's vision for connected quantity intelligence across construction disciplines.

PLANTSVILLE, Conn. - EntSun -- Altira, an AI-powered construction takeoff platform, today announced the launch of its beta version, marking a new milestone in its development of intelligent, connected quantity takeoff workflows. The initial release focuses on CSI Division 08 – Openings and CSI Division 10 – Specialties, providing construction professionals with an opportunity to explore Altira's approach to drawing interpretation, quantity extraction, and visual verification.

Altira aims to help construction professionals move from complex drawings to structured, traceable quantities with greater visibility and confidence. It is designed for estimators, preconstruction teams, quantity surveyors, general contractors, subcontractors, and cost consultants.

Beta Launch Begins with Openings and Specialties

The initial beta release focuses on two CSI MasterFormat® divisions that play important roles in construction estimating:
  • Division 08 – Openings: Covers doors, frames, hardware, and related opening components that estimators must identify and quantify.
  • Division 10 – Specialties: Includes building components such as toilet accessories, toilet paper holders, grab bars and other specialty items.

Beginning with these divisions establishes a focused scope for the beta, allowing construction professionals to explore the platform's approach to takeoff across specific building component categories.

Building a More Connected Approach to Quantity Takeoff

Altira is designed around Drawing Intelligence, an approach that considers drawing context and cross-sheet relationships rather than treating every sheet as an isolated source of information. Its broader platform capabilities are intended to support AI-assisted quantity extraction, visual verification against drawing information, revision detection and comparison, scope change assessment, quantity delta reporting, and automatic requantification.

These workflows aim to help estimating teams understand not only what has been quantified, but also how quantities relate to the underlying drawings and how document revisions may affect project scope.

Another component of Altira's approach is its published 4σ Accuracy Framework, which introduces a structured methodology for evaluating quantity confidence and validation workflows. The framework reflects the company's focus on greater transparency in assessing takeoff accuracy.

"Construction professionals need more than a faster way to count components. They need better visibility into drawing details, confidence in the quantities they review, and a clearer understanding of how revisions can affect project scope," said the Altira team. "Launching our beta with Divisions 08 and 10 gives us a focused starting point as we continue developing a more connected approach to construction quantity takeoff."
