RICHMOND, Va. - EntSun -- More than 20 companies have attempted to solve what happens to a person's online accounts after death. Vesperly says the missing piece wasn't another password vault. It was a verified legal gate.

Vesperly is a digital planning platform built around RUFADAA, the legal framework governing fiduciary access to digital assets. The platform allows users to prepare account information and instructions for a person they choose while keeping that information private during their lifetime.

Major technology companies including Google, Apple and Meta have created mechanisms for planning what happens to accounts or account information after death. Those systems operate within their own ecosystems. Vesperly was built to address the much larger universe outside them.
