Women's Orchestra Of Arizona Kicks Off 10th Anniversary Season With High-Energy "Let's Dance"
EntSun News/11097059
A decade of community and music-making culminates in a vibrant, culture-spanning performance of Ravel, Piazzolla, and Florence Price on September 27.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - EntSun -- Celebrate a decade of incredible music-making as the Women's Orchestra of Arizona (WOA) officially kicks off its historic 10th anniversary season. To launch this landmark year, the orchestra presents "Let's Dance: Passion, Pulse & Precision," a high-energy, one-hour performance exploring the mesmerizing world of dance across diverse cultures and eras.
The celebratory season opener will take place on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Peace in the Desert Church (formerly North Scottsdale United Methodist Church).
"Let's Dance" promises an unforgettable, fast-paced afternoon packed with brilliant orchestral colors and irresistible rhythms. The carefully curated program features a sweeping array of masterworks, from the slow, hypnotic build of Maurice Ravel's legendary Boléro to the fiery, dramatic flair of Astor Piazzolla's Libertango.

The orchestra will also bring to life the lush power of Sergei Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances (Mvt. 1), the vibrant, syncopated energy of Arturo Márquez's Danzón No. 2, and the rich, uniquely American soundscapes of trailblazing composer Florence Price's Symphonic Dances.
"This milestone season is a profound celebration of our history, our musicians, and the incredible community that has supported us over the last ten years," said Rae Wodarcyk, Board President. "We wanted to launch our anniversary with a program that is pure energy and joy. Dance music has this unique power to connect people across generations and cultures, which perfectly mirrors WOA's mission over the last decade."
True to the orchestra's welcoming and community-focused mission, the concert maintains an approachable, relaxed atmosphere. Audiences are invited to attend exactly as they are—whether dressed "in jeans or pearls." The performance runs approximately one hour with no intermission, making it an engaging experience for both lifelong classical music lovers and first-time concertgoers. Digital programs will be available for all attendees.
