Unfolding City: Layers of Meaning Introduced as New Abstract Cityscape Artwork

LONDON - EntSun -- London, UK — Independent fine art photographer Antonina Minova has released a new abstract photographic artwork titled Unfolding City: Layers of Meaning, continuing her exploration of urban landscapes through Intentional Camera Movement (ICM). The work presents London not as a fixed skyline, but as a layered visual narrative shaped by motion, colour, and atmosphere.

The artwork draws from the recognisable forms of central London, including St. Paul's Cathedral and contemporary city towers, which appear softened and partially dissolved. Rather than focusing on architectural detail, the image translates the city into bands of colour that suggest memory, transition, and flow.

The composition is structured around three distinct colour layers. An indigo sky introduces a sense of stillness and depth, forming a calm visual counterpoint to the city below. A violet-toned skyline occupies the central band, where landmarks become gestural silhouettes, suggesting transformation and movement. At the base, rose and magenta tones emerge across the river, bringing warmth and a sense of vitality to the scene.
