Uncork Loudoun Announces Three-Part Fall Trade Tasting Series Ahead of Virginia Wine Month
EntSun News/11098918
Thirteen Loudoun County wineries host buyers and sommeliers across three September events, from vineyard education to a grand tasting and an open-door session in Downtown Leesburg
LEESBURG, Va. - EntSun -- The Loudoun Wineries & Winegrowers Association (LWWA), in partnership with Visit Loudoun and Loudoun Economic Development, today announced the Uncork Loudoun Fall Trade Tasting Series, a three-day program built to connect sommeliers, restaurant operators, wine buyers, and hospitality leaders across Fairfax and Loudoun Counties with the winemakers behind Loudoun County's wines. The series runs September 20–22, ahead of Virginia Wine Month in October.
The series is the next step for Uncork Loudoun, the coordinated trade initiative LWWA launched earlier this year to change how restaurants and retailers source and sell local wine. Where the summer education sessions brought the trade inside individual wineries, the fall series widens the lens: a day in the vineyards, a grand tasting of all thirteen producers under one roof, and a final drop-in session timed for buyers finalizing Virginia Wine Month allocations.

Three days, three distinct experiences
Part I: Winery Education Day — Sunday, September 20, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., in Loudoun wine country at 868 Estate Winery. Trade professionals will taste, tour, and learn directly from growers and winemakers on Loudoun's terroir, microclimates, viticultural practices, and winemaking.
Part II: Grand Trade Tasting — Monday, September 21, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Zwiesel Fortessa Americas Showroom in Loudoun County. The flagship event features premium pours from all thirteen wineries pouring over 60 estate-grown, award-winning wines from Loudoun County, served in Zwiesel glassware. Winery owners and winemakers will present their wines.
Part III: Open Door Trade Tasting — Tuesday, September 22, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at October One Wine Bar in Downtown Leesburg. A relaxed, drop-in session for revisiting favorites and finalizing Virginia Wine Month allocations.

A collective effort
"This collaborative series is one of the region's most ambitious efforts," said Aimee Henkle, owner of Lost Creek Winery and Echelon Wine Bar and founder of Uncork Loudoun. "Rather than compete, these thirteen wineries are working together to tell the broader story of Loudoun wine. Our goal is to make it easy for Northern Virginia's top restaurants to pour exceptional local wines that reflect this distinctive region."
Attendance is limited at all three sessions. Trade professionals, hospitality buyers, and media representatives can find details and request passes at uncorkloudountrade.netlify.app.
