TV/Film Star John Amos Stars in 'Coming 2 America' Set to Premiere in March

LOS ANGELES - EntSun -- TV/Film Star John Amos stars in the highly anticipated premiere of the new film release, "Coming 2 America". Amos returns in the all-star cast of the sequel to the original hit film that includes Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall, and other notable stars.

John Amos is best known for his starring role as James Evans on the hit CBS Series, "Good Times", along with starring roles in the Emmy Winning "The West Wing", "All About the Andersons", and film classics like "Coming to America" and "Die Hard II". In addition to his stellar acting career, Amos was signed as a free agent in the NFL for a brief stint with the Kansas City Chiefs, a time during which he was inspired to write the beginning of his original project, "The Turk".

When asked about his thoughts on "Coming 2 America", John Amos shared: "It is very rare that you have an opportunity to work with an actor of Eddie Murphy's stature… not just a stature in the industry, but his talent as an actor to transform from one character to another seamlessly. I don't think people really appreciate or understand the talent that is required to make these seamless transitions as Eddie does between comedy and drama and the myriad of characters he has portrayed in various films. It is truly an experience to work with Eddie, and I am so glad I got to establish a character, Cleo McDowell, that seems to have been taken from my own life as a McDonald's employee. It's been a wonderful opportunity to work with Eddie in 'Coming 2 America'."

The news of the upcoming film release follows the recent success of a viral TikTok video featuring John Amos and his son K. C. Amos singing "Lovely Day" by Bill Withers. K.C. Amos is a Grammy-nominated music video producer and director. Amos has produced music videos with a list of top star clientele including Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, and Macy Gray. The TikTok video continues to surge in its current upwards momentum.

In addition, John Amos recently completed production,"Because of Charley", which is currently in post-production. He recently completed production on the film directed by John Binkowski. Its official film debut will follow the release of "Coming 2 America" at a later date to be announced.
