Tulsa Air and Space Museum to Host Girls in Aviation Week
EntSun News/11084639
Event aims to inspire future STEM leaders for Oklahoma's Aerospace & Aviation Industry
TULSA, Okla. - EntSun -- Tulsa, OK – Tulsa Air and Space Museum (TASM) will host Girls in Aviation Week, a free program introducing girls ages 10–18 to aviation, aerospace, and STEM careers through hands-on learning and direct engagement with industry professionals. The event runs February 24-27.
Each day opens with a panel of women in aviation and aerospace who share experiences, career journeys, and answer questions. Participants will attend a planetarium show focused on space and flight science, complete STEM challenges, and explore museum exhibits including Women in Aviation, a Space Shuttle simulator, and historic aircraft.
The program supports TASM's commitment to workforce development by helping young women envision futures in high-demand STEM fields.
Girls in Aviation Week is funded by a Community Action Grant from AAUW. Community Action Grants provide funding to AAUW branches and state organizations, and local, community-based nonprofit organizations for innovative programs that promote education and equality for women and girls. Special consideration is given to projects that focus on girls' and young women's achievement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

"At AAUW, we believe talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not — and programs like Girls in Aviation Week help change that," said Gloria L. Blackwell, CEO of AAUW. "We are honored to support the Tulsa Air and Space Museum as a 2025–26 AAUW Community Action Grantee and to partner with an organization so deeply committed to workforce development, especially for girls and students from Title I and rural communities. By removing financial and institutional barriers, TASM is ensuring that young people can explore high-demand STEM careers regardless of family income or available school funding, opening doors to futures these girls deserve to imagine — and achieve."
Space is limited and advance registration is required. For details or to register, visit Tulsa Air and Space Museum online at https://www.tulsamuseum.org/gia-2026/ or contact TASM.
