The truth behind mylifesflow.com and the poet, Taryn "My Life's Flow" Robinson

EntSun News/11098278
TACOMA, Wash. - EntSun -- Most writers who venture into merchandise treat it as an afterthought.
My Life's Flow, the poetry and merchandise venture built around the work of poet Taryn "My Life's Flow" Robinson, takes the opposite approach. Every product, from the Color With Tee coloring book series to the Juneteenth tees featuring a raised Black fist, is designed for a specific cultural audience first.
The Color With Tee series, which just expanded to include Beach Day (a summer coloring book now available on Amazon), centres African American children and families in every illustration and concept. The adult coloring book in the range pairs affirmations with images created specifically for African American women. There is no version for "everyone." There is only the version for the audience Robinson is actually speaking to. The tote bags feature "strong African American images," full stop. The Pride Flow Tee and Love Edition T-Shirt Flow exist because those celebrations matter to the community Robinson writes for, not because market research said pride month and Valentine's Day drive sales. The Color With Tee line now includes not just books but branded tote bags to carry them, teddy bears, sketchpads, even t-shirts that match the coloring book aesthetic. Each extension makes sense because it serves the same audience in a new context.

The products talk to each other because they share a purpose beyond revenue.
My Life's Flow sells tees featuring album covers from "A Toxic Love Story" and "True Love Theory," presumably connected to Robinson's poetry collections. There's a Black Queen With Afro Puffs Reading the Golden Book design. A Juneteenth shirt designed for year-round wear, not just June. These designs exist because they reflect the artist's actual work and the community's actual lives.
My Life's Flow recently added "Color With Tee: Beach Day" to Amazon and let the people who want it find it, without worrying about whether a buyer at a national chain thinks it's universal enough. The economics finally support cultural specificity.

My Life's Flow now has three volumes of poetry, a coloring book series that spans themes from beach days to affirmations to learning exercises, and a clothing and accessories line that marks everything from Halloween to Juneteenth. That's not a flash-in-the-pan merchandise grab. That's a body of work that exists because someone decided their audience mattered more than the hypothetical broader market.

The lesson for other writers and independent creatives is simple: if you're going to build a product line around your work, build it for the people who actually read you. My Life's Flow proves that the audience you're actually writing for will show up when you do.
