Stand-up comedian Matt Rife stars in the mystery thriller The Private Eye. The movie will be released on cable and TVOD platforms in August.
LOS ANGELES - EntSun -- The Private Eye is a fun, twisty comedy, and mystery where everything is not quite as it seems and gives an affectionate nod to classic film noir. Rife is captivating in the leading role and successfully plays off support from Grant and Roberts.
Matt Rife (Wild 'N Out), Clare Grant (Changeland), and Eric Roberts (Runaway Train) star in the psychological thriller The Private Eye. The movie is set in Los Angeles and follows private investigator Mort Madison (Rife) whose life changes when a mysterious yet familiar woman (Grant) hires him for an unusual case.
Matt Rife is a standup comedian and actor who has worked with some of the biggest names in comedy, such as Erik Griffin, Dane Cook, Ralphie Mae, and Finesse Mitchelle. Rife easily transitioned to television and has appeared in MTV's hit show Wild N Out, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, That 90s Show, and in films, Wolf Mountain and Karma's a Bitch.

Private investigator Mort Madison (Matt Rife) has seen his better days. A mysterious woman, Michelle (Clare Grant) hires him to spy on David (Elliot), whom he believes to be her lover. In the detective process, Mort himself falls in love with Michelle and decides the only way he can be with her is by eliminating David from the equation. Mort hopes this will entice Michelle to run away with him and live happily ever after only to reveal a mind-blowing twist.
