Boeing in the bulletins also stated by sending in the certifications and parts, they will be reducing redundant inspections. Boeing also sat on ANSI–ANAB's Management Accreditation Committee (webpage and website), which had the authority to grant, suspend, or withdraw certifications.
• Conflict of Interest Risks: ANSI–ANAB and its international counterparts — under the International Accreditation Forum, Inc. (Delaware) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (Australia) The IAF was founded by ANSI-ANAB, IAF & ILAC are associations of national and international accreditation bodies equivalent to ANSI-ANAB who are also underwriters for IAF&ILAC which means they are responsible for systematic and product failures — are intertwined with government agencies and industry clients, raising serious conflict-of-interest concerns.
• Credibility Questioned: ISO's own language says third-party accreditation provides "confidence in the integrity and credibility" of certifications. Given Boeing's 22-year absence from AS9100, can any new certificate — from ANSI–ANAB or its equivalents — be trusted?
• Workers Unaware: In October 2024, Boeing employees in Everett, Auburn, Renton, and Northfield, WA —with 75% of Boeing employees have only 3–5 years of experience, while just 25% have 10+ years.— had never heard of AS9100 and said they had never been audited.
