The Historic St. James to Host Major Cultural Concert in Collaboration with Leading Institutions

BALTIMORE - EntSun -- Baltimore, MD — Historic St. James Episcopal Church, whose story has gained growing recognition across Baltimore and beyond during its pre-Jubilee year, is announcing a major cultural and musical collaboration that brings together historic congregations and nationally recognized institutions.

In partnership with Metropolitan United Methodist Church and Union Baptist Church, and in collaboration with Johns Hopkins Sheridan Libraries, the Being Human Festival, the Billie Holiday Center for Liberation Arts, and the National Humanities Center, St. James will host a powerful community concert celebrating the legacy of Black sacred music.

"I'm Gonna Let It Shine: Praise, Power, and Protest in Black Musical Traditions"

This free concert will feature leading choirs and musical ensembles in a dynamic presentation reflecting the spiritual, cultural, and historical significance of Black musical traditions.
