Texas: Governor Abbott Appoints Landrum To 514th Judicial District In Harris County

~ Houston, TX- Governor Greg Abbott has announced the appointment of Michael Landrum as the new Judge of the 514th Judicial District Court in Harris County. The appointment will be effective from September 1, 2026, and Landrum's term will expire on December 31, 2028, or until his successor is elected and qualified.

Landrum, a Houston native, is a well-respected attorney and arbitrator with years of experience in the legal field. He has previously served as a judge for both the 113th and 164th District Courts in Harris County. In addition to his legal career, Landrum is an active member of various professional organizations such as the State Bar of Texas (SBOT), Houston Bar Association (HBA), Texas Association of Civil Trial and Appellate Specialists, Texas Association of Attorney Mediators, College of the SBOT, and The Federalist Society.

He is also known for his contributions to the community through his involvement with organizations like the Houston Region Business Coalition Board of Trustees and volunteering as a reading tutor with Spring Branch Independent School District. Landrum holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of St. Thomas and a Juris Doctor from The University of Texas School of Law.
