~ Governor Greg Abbott has recently announced the appointment of Philip George to the Upper Neches River Municipal Water Authority Board of Directors. George, a resident of Palestine, will serve on the board for a term that will end on February 1, 2031. The Upper Neches River Municipal Water Authority is responsible for managing and preserving water resources in the Upper Neches River basin and its tributaries, which are located in Anderson, Cherokee, Smith, and Henderson Counties.

George brings a wealth of experience to his new role as a board member. He is an accountant and partner at George & Company Certified Public Accountants (CPA) PC. He is also a member of the State Board of Public Accountancy, the Texas Society of CPAs, and the American Institute of CPAs. In addition to his professional achievements, George is an active volunteer in his community with organizations such as Palestine YMCA and the Knights of Columbus.
