Texas: Governor Abbott Appoints Drake To Governor's University Research Initiative Advisory Board

~ Governor Greg Abbott has recently appointed Brad Drake to the Governor's University Research Initiative Advisory Board. This appointment is for a term that will expire at the Governor's discretion. The purpose of this board is to assist the Office of the Governor in reviewing and evaluating grant proposals, as well as making recommendations for their approval or disapproval.

Drake, a resident of Paris, brings a wealth of experience to this role. He currently serves as the chief executive officer of Drake Companies LLC, a construction and materials business holding company. In addition, he has previously served as a gubernatorial appointee on the Sulphur River Basin Authority Board of Directors.

Drake is also an active member of various professional organizations, including the Association of General Contractors of Texas and the Texas Asphalt Pavement Association. He also serves on the board of Guaranty Bank & Trust in Addison.

Drake holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Tech University. With his extensive background and expertise, he is well-equipped to contribute to the success of the Governor's University Research Initiative Advisory Board.
