EntSun News/11085310
~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott revealed that Sika Corporation will be expanding its operations in Sealy, Texas as part of the state's Jobs, Energy, Technology, and Innovation (JETI) program. The company will be investing over $90 million in capital and creating 60 new jobs in Austin County. Additionally, Sika has been granted a $519,000 Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) grant and a $7,000 Veteran Created Job Bonus.
Governor Abbott expressed his excitement for the expansion, stating that "Texas is where the future of manufacturing is being built." He believes that this move by Sika will not only bring more job opportunities to hardworking Texans but also provide cost-effective advantages for supply chain providers and access to expanded markets across the country. He congratulated Sika on strengthening their relationship with the community of Sealy and working together to build a stronger Texas for years to come.
Sika's investment in Texas is driven by the increasing demand for commercial roofing materials and their desire to be closer to major strategic metropolitan markets in the western and southern United States. Jim Walther, President and CEO of Sika Corporation USA, stated that this expansion is a testament to their commitment to being a global leader in commercial roofing. He believes that it will strengthen their ability to deliver innovative and sustainable construction solutions to their customers.
