Stevens Construction progresses at Foley Products
EntSun News/11097027
FORT MYERS, Fla. - EntSun -- Stevens Construction is underway with an expansion at Foley Products, a CMC Precast business, announced Daniel Adams, executive vice president/partner, Stevens Construction, Inc.
Stevens Construction is building a 45,000-square-foot metal building on Foley Products' existing campus, located at 7291 Pennsylvania Ave. in Fort Myers. The facility will support the manufacturing of precast and reinforced concrete products and includes a permanent 5-ton crane, a new concrete batch plant and administrative office space.
The expansion includes several unique features designed to support Foley Products' manufacturing process. Stevens Construction is building two large below-ground concrete pits that will house specialized production equipment. One pit, approximately 12 feet deep, will contain equipment that forms concrete pipes and other precast products. A second pit will house equipment that fabricates the steel reinforcing cages placed inside the concrete products.
Outside the building, Stevens Construction is constructing the foundations for a new concrete batch plant, where concrete will be mixed before being transported directly into the building for production. Once the reinforcing cages are assembled, they are combined with freshly mixed concrete to create the finished precast products, which are then moved to a dedicated curing area to harden.
