St. Petersburg Catholic High School Announces a "60 for 60" Campaign
EntSun News/10695551
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Oct. 4, 2017 - EntSun -- Principal Ross Bubolz of St. Petersburg Catholic High School today announced the school will be kicking off a "60 for 60" campaign to commemorate and coincide with the school's historic 60th year anniversary. The campaign will run from October 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017.
In 1957, the doors of Bishop Barry High School for boys opened as a result of increased enrollment at St. Paul's School, which was the cornerstone of Catholic high school education in St. Petersburg. It was the Bishop Barry students who selected the school's mascot, the Baron, a tradition that has continued. Less than 10 years after the opening of Bishop Barry, ground was broken for Notre Dame Academy, an all-girls Catholic High School. In 1973 the two schools merged and became the co-ed St. Petersburg Catholic High School. The "60 for 60" campaign will bolster awareness in the community for the need to support and invest in the future of a Catholic faith-based high school education.

"We're asking all St. Paul, Bishop Barry, Notre Dame and St. Petersburg Catholic Alumni, as well as local feeder schools and parishes to donate at least $60 to honor the school's 60 year history and legacy," said Principal Bubolz.
The campaign will offer the option to donate to an Annual Fund or donate specifically to a tuition assistance fund, an instructional and learning enhancement fund, or a fund that supports student life programs. The goal of the campaign is to raise at least $60,000. A special acknowledgment and Spirit Award will be given to the class whose alumni raises the most by the end of the campaign. "We'd love to have someone from each graduating class reach out as leaders to generate interest and donations for the "60 for 60" campaign," said Dr. Daniel Zepp, Director of Advancement. "If you're interested in helping, please contact me at the school office."
A "60 for 60" campaign completion celebration is slated for Saturday, February 3, 2018, during Catholic Schools Week, in the St. John Bosco Center for Fine Arts. A commemorative "60 for 60" plaque naming donors who do not wish to remain anonymous will be revealed at that time. The plaque will be displayed in the lobby of the Administration Building at the St. Petersburg Catholic High School campus.
