Spotify Is Labeling AI Artist Identities. KayeDinero Says Her Music Is Human

TORONTO - EntSun -- KayeDinero writes Python, develops market-analysis tools and builds digital systems.

But when it comes to her music, she wants one thing clear:

the artist is human.

As Spotify begins rolling out an "AI Persona" badge for some AI-generated artist identities, the Asheville-based producer says the distinction matters more than ever.

"I use technology every day, but my music is not an AI artist project," KayeDinero said. "The decisions, the taste, the mistakes, the emotion and the final direction come from me."

The timing is fitting.

Her recent album Human Error explores the tension between precision and imperfection, while Kulture Metrics connects music with the language of systems, measurement and technology.

Her newest run of releases includes "Cass Tech," "Nine Mile" and "Glizzy Glock."

The Person Behind the Process

KayeDinero's work stretches far beyond music.

She also works across software development, Python, financial analytics, TradingView tools, independent media and aerial cinematography.

That technical background is exactly why she rejects the idea that using computers somehow makes the creator less human.

"A computer can give you tools," she said. "It cannot give you my memories of Detroit, my experience living in Asheville, the places I go, the people I meet or why I chose a particular sound."

Recent songs have drawn directly from those experiences, including Detroit references in "Cass Tech," Asheville and Metro Detroit connections in "Nine Mile," and late-night Asheville humor in "Glizzy Glock."

Human Error, On Purpose

For KayeDinero, imperfection is not something technology always needs to remove.

"Sometimes the human error is the part that gives the record personality," she said.

That philosophy now sits at the center of a catalog blending instrumentals, cinematic production, hip-hop influence, place-based storytelling and technology.
