Split'n Lanes Hits The Road - Vintage Motorcycle Show, August 20 – 22, 2021, Asbury, NJ
EntSun News/10882907
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - EntSun -- Basket Case Productions announces its seventh Split'n Lanes show. This year's show is being held outdoors at Long Tall Shorty's in Asbury, NJ to accommodate its growing roster of classic motorcycles while providing a safe venue for gathering during the pandemic.
Girard Fox, co-founder of Basket Case Productions is a dedicated vintage motorcyclist who recently rode his 1949 Harley-Davidson Panhead 120 miles from his home in Brooklyn, NY to attend the Oley, PA AMCA vintage swap meet. An unfortunate rear wheel seizure caused a delay, but the vintage motorcycle community came to his rescue and he was up and running shortly afterwards.
This commitment to the joys of vintage motorcycle ownership is core to the values of Basket Case Productions. Tim Warner's 1970 Triumph Bonneville is up to the task, but he couldn't share the ride this year, but riding 50+ year old bikes is a big part of why their shows are unique among vintage events. Tim and Girard not only use old bikes as their daily ride – they love doing it!
This year's event will host more than 125 classic machines, a documentary film screening about racing legend Dave Roper, live music, great food, multiple bars, a swap meet with parts & product vendors, bike giveaway, and a motorcycle stunt performance. Camping is available just up the road. Nowhere else on the East Coast can you find such an enormous and eclectic collection of vintage motorbikes. Hillclimbers, drag racers, trikes, land speed-record machines and obscure street bikes will all be present. The primary criteria is that all displayed motorcycles are 35 years old or older. The audience consists of builders, fabricators, collectors, and hard-riding enthusiasts… as well as families who are interested in a fun weekend destination. Everyone is welcome regardless of their level of interest. Many different marques and countries of origin are represented at the show. Split'n Lanes is always a relaxed event where people can gather and feel that they are a part of the greater vintage moto community.

Schedule:
Friday, August 20th – 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm: Movie night with Motorcycle Man a short film about Dave Roper, lifelong vintage motorcycle racer. A casual gathering of the tribes… reunite with friends, get settled into campsites. Of course the food, libations, and music make for a great start to this idyllic moto weekend. There will be bonfires.
Saturday, August 21st – 11:00 am to Midnight: The day begins with a stroll through the grounds where 125+ machines are arrayed on display. While the audience walks around viewing these amazing machines of every stripe, vendors and sponsors ring the area with booths displaying their wares as well. Trophies for various categories, unique to the Split'n Lanes tradition, will be awarded in the afternoon at 6:00 pm. Spectators will be entertained, and of course great food and drink are on hand to sustain them in their revelry. In the evening there will be a number of bands to keep the vibe flowing.
Sunday, August 22nd – 9:00 am to 5:00 pm: Swap Meet! Grab some coffee and breakfast...walk the meadow looking for great deals to help you along with your own vintage bike build. Sponsors and other vendors ring the perimeter so participants can shop for modern items as well. Bike giveaway winner announced in the afternoon; and hold onto your hats because our mind-blowing stunt act will close out the show in the late afternoon!
